Eisenhower Health Launches New Multidisciplinary Clinic for Comprehensive Breast Cancer Care

Eisenhower Health has long been dedicated to providing top-tier care for diagnosed breast cancer patients, and now, with the introduction of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic, their commitment has reached a new level. This clinic is a groundbreaking initiative designed to streamline and enhance breast cancer care, ensuring patients receive the best treatment in the most efficient way possible.

What is the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic?

Launched as part of Eisenhower Health’s strategic initiatives, the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic at the Lucy Curci Cancer Center allows patients to receive coordinated care, a streamlined diagnosis, and a unified treatment plan all within a single visit. Held on the third Wednesday of each month, patients meet with a team of specialists including a breast surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, and a social worker. This immediate collaboration ensures that there are no delays in starting treatment, and patients can feel confident that their care is integrated and informed by the latest medical advancements.

Expanding Breast Cancer Services

In addition to the launch of this new innovative clinic, Eisenhower Health is also introducing several other elements to create a comprehensive breast cancer program and further support breast cancer prevention and care:

• High-Risk Breast Clinic: This clinic caters to patients at an elevated risk of developing breast cancer due to genetic predispositions, family history or other factors. It provides specialized monitoring and preventive strategies to help these individuals manage their risk.
• Self-Referral Screening: In a move to make breast cancer screening more accessible, patients can now schedule their mammograms without needing a health care provider’s referral. This ease of access can make a significant difference in early detection, which is crucial for successful treatment outcomes.
• Advanced Imaging Technology: Eisenhower Health has also upgraded its imaging services across all three Breast Center locations. With 3D AI computer-aided detection, the Centers now offer  enhanced accuracy in screening mammograms, ensuring that potential issues are identified earlier and more reliably.
