Eisenhower Health Makes History: First Benchmark™ Case Observation Site for TAVR

Eisenhower Health has made history as the first U.S. hospital to become an Edwards Benchmark™ Case Observation Site for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), an innovative treatment for aortic stenosis.

Traditionally, aortic stenosis, a narrowing of the aortic valve opening, required open-heart surgery. Since 2015, Eisenhower Health has been using the minimally invasive TAVR procedure, where a team of cardiologists and surgeons replace the faulty valve via catheter. To learn more about the procedure, read this short article.

Eisenhower’s TAVR program has performed nearly 1,000 procedures with a 99% success rate, surpassing national averages. This remarkable success, combined with its commitment to advanced technology and collaborative care, led to Eisenhower’s selection as the first Edwards Benchmark program in California and now, a national observation site for TAVR. This recognition solidifies Eisenhower’s leadership in improving outcomes for patients with heart valve disease.

More information about TAVR and other cardiovascular resources will be available at the Fourth Annual Eisenhower Health Cardiovascular Institute Symposium. Join us Saturday
