“Knee arthritis – most commonly when people develop arthritis of the knee – they decrease their activity level… the arthritis causes pain, causing limitation in motion and people respond by decreasing activity,” says Ghassan Boghosian, DO, a hip and knee replacement specialist with Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center in Rancho Mirage, California.
He then goes on to point out that the problem in decreasing activity is the decrease then increases the level of pain and loss of motion and increases the potential for related diseases.
