Coronavirus Update from Eisenhower’s Chief Medical Officer

Alan Williamson, MD, Eisenhower Health’s Chief Medical Officer, believes that we may be seeing a flattening of the curve in Coachella Valley. In an interview with KESQ TV, Dr. Williamson quickly warns that we aren’t through this – pointing out that cases and deaths haven’t completely gone away.

“We really want to acknowledge that the social distancing, staying at home is working… so we need to continue that course. Thankfully things are better than we had planned for. We really planned for the worst and hoped for the best. And fortunately, because of all of the social distancing, wearing the masks, staying at home and staying safe that the public has been practicing, we’re not seeing the worst of what we had feared could have happened… we’re very thankful to the community for everything they have done to make that happened for us.”

In this Health Insight video blog post – Coronavirus Update from: Eisenhower’s Chief Medical Officer – Dr. Williamson offers some additional updates:

  • Local and national male/female distinctions
  • PPE challenges
  • Patient count
  • Patient trends
