Heart Failure – Do You Have These Risk Factors and Symptoms?

“Heart Failure affects 6.5 M people in the United States, resulting in about 900,000 hospitalizations and over 200,000 new diagnoses of heart failure annually,” according to Damon Kelsay, MD, Board Certified Cardiologist with Eisenhower Desert Cardiology Center and Director of the Heart Failure Clinic at Eisenhower Health.

Heart Failure—also known as Congestive Heart Failure—is a heart condition where the heart doesn’t supply enough blood for the body to function properly. If you suspect that you may have heart failure a prompt medical workup should be undertaken so you can get intervention measures working on your behalf.

In this Health Insights video blog – Heart Failure – Do You Have These Risk Factors or Symptoms? – Kelsey educates us on indicators for heart failure and possible treatments if you do get a heart failure diagnosis. Dr. Kelsay covers the following:

  • Risk factors
  • Heart failure symptoms
  • Ominous signs you need to manage ASAP
  • Interventional measures

If you have any of the risk factors or symptoms covered by Dr. Kelsay in this video, a prompt workup is strongly advised. Interventional measures, perhaps as non-invasive as congestive heart failure medication, can be implemented right away for a good prognosis.
