“One of the things people forget is there definitely is an association between knee pain and the shoes you are wearing,” says Matthew Diltz, MD, a Board Certified fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon with Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center in Rancho Mirage, CA who specializes in Sports Medicine.
During the summer, particularly in the desert and hotter climate regions, people tend to wear flip-flops and sandals for comfort. Yet that can create a challenge resulting in painful knees.
