“Low back pain is one of the most common chronic painful conditions that I see in my pain clinic,” observes Kevin Wong, DO, a Board Certified Anesthesiologist with fellowship training in Pain Medicine. Dr. Wong is affiliated with Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California.
The immediate causes are seemingly endless: lifting an object, pushing a cart, waking up in the morning. In other words, the causes may not be very precise and can sometimes be surprising. And the pain generators can come from numerous places throughout the body: the joints, muscles, ligaments, nerves, narrowing of the spinal cord.
