STAY HOME. Rates of COVID-19 began to increase when restrictions eased in May, followed by Memorial Day celebrations. Let’s take that lesson and make better choices for our July 4th celebrations. While July 4th celebrations usually bring large groups together for barbeques, fireworks and celebrations, Eisenhower Health is asking the community to put their health first and stay home this holiday weekend.
STAY SAFE. Barbeque at home with your household members. Keep the group size smaller than 10 and wear masks if anyone joins you from outside your immediate family. With bars and in-restaurant dining unavailable, it’s a great time to master the grill and have fun in the yard or inside. If you need to go to the grocery store, remember to wear a mask (and do not touch the front of it once it’s on your face), maintain physical distance from others and practice good hand hygiene. Eisenhower is Here for You
Our physicians, nurses and other clinical and frontline staff are here for you. We need you to do your part by staying home unless you need urgent or emergency care.
Concerned about COVID?
If you suspect you have COVID-19, with symptoms like (but not limited to) a fever of 100.4 or higher, shortness of breath or a dry cough, please call Eisenhower’s COVID-19 hotline at 760-837-8988 before seeking care at an Eisenhower location.
Don’t Ignore Emergencies
Eisenhower’s Emergency Department is here for you 24/7. Patients are screened for COVID-19 before entering the hospital and patients who are suspected of having COVID-19 are seated in a separate area with negative airflow. NEVER IGNORE signs and symptoms of a heart attack or stroke, severe abdominal pain combined with vomiting or diarrhea, or head injury.
Stroke symptoms include:
Balance – loss of balance or coordination
Eyes – difficulty with vision
Face drooping or weakness
Arm weakness
Speech difficulty/Sudden headache
Time – do not wait, call 911
Eisenhower Urgent Care
This weekend, Eisenhower Urgent Care locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Not sure whether you need urgent or emergency care? Visit EisenhowerHealth.org/UrgentCare and download our helpful Urgency vs. Emergency reference guide.
Please do your part: maintain physical distance, wear a mask in all public places and wash your hands frequently. The only way through this is together.

Because many positive people may be asymptomatic, it’s important to bear in mind that large numbers of people are passing the virus along before they even know they have it. This, and other reasons, argue for maintaining precautions until the data show COVID-19 is under control so we can protect ourselves, our families and our most vulnerable populations that can’t launch good immune responses. We all have a role in this.
